Description: |
Smar Jbeil is a small agglomeration situated in the region of Batroun in North Lebanon 59 km from Beirut at an altitude of 500m .
The name is of Phoenician origin and means Guardian of Jbeil. Smar Jbeil is one of the most ancient towns of Lebanon. The citadel was later occupied by the Romans, who left various inscriptions on its northern wall, followed by the Crusaders, who have built cellars next to its towers and a church to the east of the citadel. The citadel is also characterized by its wells, carved into the rocks and its deep tunnels connecting the castle to the neighboring valleys.
The trail will start from Ghouma Mrah El Ziet , will pass by the location where LBC filmed El Wady Farms until to reach the Monastery of St. Rafqa till Madfoun the trail passes through bushes and dirt roads .
Lunch will be in a shady place among the trees after finishing lunch we will pass to Batroun to drink delicious Lemonade and at the end we will head back to Beirut .
