Press freedom in the world.

Yesterday was the world day for the freedom of press. Reporters without frontiers organized a huge gathering in front of the Iranian embassy in Paris calling for the liberation of Roxana Saberi, a journalist accused of being a spy for the United States government even though they had no proof.

The 3^rd of May is the word day for the freedom of press, the objective of this day is to make people and governments more aware on the importance of providing the public with information. The freedom of press is directly correlated with the human rights respect.

Based on this organization studies, Lebanon is ranked as the 66^th on 173 countries.

The United Nations issued statistics showing the number of journalists thrown in jail during this year:

 China and Cuba have the biggest number of jailed journalists, while Iran is the 7^th, and Israel the 8^th.

 Iraq has the biggest number of assassinated journalists(14 journalists assassinated.)
