After their success (13.000 entries) in 2008, the "Science Days" are back for their second edition at the Beirut Hippodrome from Wednesday October 14 to Saturday October 17 2009. During 4 days, universities, schools, research centers, associations and individuals involved with scientific and technological development, will be presenting their inventions, the application of research in daily life, the necessity, utility and ways to conduct experiments, the importance of those experiments in the process of progress and the level of scientific knowledge in Lebanon.

The scientists will unveil their secrets to the audience and will present them in an enjoyable and fun way, through games and interactive experiences, in a festive ambiance for families and children as well as specialists.

The participants will use modern education methods with interactive games to spark the curiosity of visitors and encourage them to get even more interested in that extraordinary phenomenon that is the discovery of the world and of the human body.

"Science Days 2009" will include stands and a diversity of themes, with school and university students presenting their inventions and discoveries ranging from medicine to astronomy, the environment, nature preservation and the human being. The year 2009 is the World Astronomy Year. An exhibition of 50 pictures of space which is presently touring the world's capitals will be on display at the Hippodrome.

In addition, a round table organized at the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions will complete the gathering on human sciences to demonstrate how laws and their applications are also part of our scientific legacy and help improve our human condition.

Water, the human body, robots, nature and sustainable development are themes that will be examined on October 14, 15, 16 and 17, from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
