In the session we will demonstrate how to use your GPS to supplement your other navigational skills for hillwalking or directions. The programme is based on the more commonly used Garmin handheld devices but users of other makes could also find it useful. Also how to use google earth the most common software for maps and navigation. Topics Covered: GPS Basics - Setting up your GPS - Finding out where you are - Recording locations (waypoints) - Recording walk details - Logging where you went - Storing Tracks - Creating Routes-using google earth and google maps
