	Minister Baroud inaugurating "Baldati eco centre" on 2009
	The municipality of mayfouq Designed By Architect chaker noon , civil engineer: patrick sleiman , electrical engineer : charbel khalifeh , Mechanical engineer : charbel yazbeck . it was inaugurated on Friday 7th of august 2009 by minister ziad baroud , the minister will start his day by visiting Baldati centre at 11 am and meet the team then move to kattara monastery then to mayfouq monastery.
	The public hall of mayfouq designed by the same team of architects and engineers from mayfouq opened its first floor to the public and " jam3iat el rahmeh" is working hard to accomplish the rest of the building wich will host offices for all local active NGO's and the main public hall of 800 sqm.

The village of Mayfouq is located in a lovely mountain area with verdant scenery.

64km from Beirut-25km from byblos @850 to 1100m altitude .

Here is the Church of Our Lady of Elige, built of small stones and obviously of great antiquity. A Syriac inscription dating to 1276 inlaid in the wall of the church and written in estranghelo characters, reads: "In the name of the eternally living God, in the year 1588 of the Greek era, this Jacobite temple to the Mother of God, who prays for us, was finished. Amen. By the hands of the bishops Mark and John."
