Marjeyoun, a caza in south Lebanon that involves a number of towns. The center of the Caza is in Jdaydet Marjeyoun where most of the public departments are located. In addition to that the Lebanese Army is deployed there in an army base. The term Marjeyoun consists actually of 2 terms Marj- in Arabic meaning valley and Ououn- in Arabic meaning water springs so Marjeyoun means the valley where water springs are. Marjeyoun has played a big role in Lebanese history, for example the first battalion of the Lebanese army was located in Marjeyoun, and during World War II Marjeyoun was the witness on a lot of fierce battles between the two fighting groups.
